what is glow?
GLOW Food Ministry was created out of a desire to meet the most basic physical need of our surrounding community: hunger. GLOW provides groceries for 600+ people every single month. GLOW hosts an event on the first Saturday of every month where people can purchase groceries at a local grocery store and donate them to the GLOW Food Pantry. This is one of the best ways that we know of to make a direct and immediate impact on our community on a weekly basis.
how can i help?
Serve: You can serve in our GLOW Food Pantry on Monday nights from 6-7pm. Help bag groceries and interact with GLOW recipients as they come to receive food or join us on the first Saturday of every month for our Grocery Store Blitz!
Donate: You can donate food to be distributed at any time. You can also donate money directly to GLOW and we will purchase groceries with your donated money on your behalf!
Grocery store blitz
On the first Saturday of every month, we meet at the Food Lion on Garrison Blvd at 10:00am. People and families show up to spend about 30 minutes shopping for groceries that they will turn around and donate to the GLOW Food Pantry. This event allows us to play a hands on part in serving our neighbors. After we shop, every one heads over to help unload the groceries into the pantry. We wrap up by 11am and those groceries are handed out throughout that month on Monday nights!
