WHAT IS GLOW?

GLOW Food Ministry was created out of a desire to meet the most basic physical need of our surrounding community: hunger. GLOW provides groceries for 600+ people every single month. GLOW hosts an event on the first Saturday of every month where people can purchase groceries at a local grocery store and donate them to the GLOW Food Pantry. This is one of the best ways that we know of to make a direct and immediate impact on our community on a weekly basis.

HOURS OF OPERATION

We hand out groceries to GLOW recipients every Wednesday night from 6pm – 7pm at our NEW LOCATION of West Avenue Presbyterian Church (1015 W Franklin Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28052). We pass out groceries from the side entrance of the church, down Ransom Street.

Very rarely, dates are subject to change due to holidays. GLOW recipients will be notified several weeks in advance if this is the case.

HOW CAN I HELP?

There are several ways you can help us care for our neighbors. You can serve in the GLOW Food Pantry every Wednesday night from 6pm-7pm. This includes helping bag groceries, interacting with guest who come to receive food, helping to keep the space clean and organized so we can continue to provide this service free of charge right in the heart of Gastonia. Another way you can help is to join us for our Grocery Store Blitz on the first Saturday of every month! Gather with us, purchase groceries, and immediately donate them to GLOW so we never have to turn anyone away for lack of resources! Lastly, GLOW is always accepting donations! If you would like to donate, please contact us to set up a time!

HOW DOES THE GROCERY STORY BLITZ WORK?

We know that joining in on a new activity can be somewhat intimidating. We want to eliminate any obstacle that might block you from joining us in serving our community!

One way we’ve tried to do that is to create a video of a complete Grocery Store Blitz walkthrough so you can see, from beginning to end, just how easy it is!

If you would like to serve with GLOW, donate food or clothing items, or if you are in need of assistance please contact Ben Hibberts at bhibberts@revolutionchurchnc.com
